Destiny Village, Helping others through our giving.

Many of you who have visited Destiny Village have been able to meet
Pastor Marcel Destine'. He has been a valuable addition to the team
that God has assembled in Haiti. He has served us in so many areas
through the years and our relationship has continued to grow closer
with time. he once even filled in and lived on our compound and served
as our director of operations.

If you have had the privilege of working
with him or of hearing him preach then you will understand our love for
him. He has had the same old Toyota truck since we met him and to be
honest it was pretty beat up even then. It is held together with
bailing wire and duct tape but it still continues to run. Through some
very generous donations from friends and family we have been able to
buy him another truck. It is a 2006 Ford F150 with 91000 miles on it.
The truck as you can see in the pictures is in very good shape and
rides and drives like new. Whenever you start out to complete a task
like this it takes many individuals or groups to make it all come
together and I want to thank all those who helped make it possible.
Frank Fortner took time out of his golf schedule to take me to the
auction in Tampa and help me get such a good deal. Jared, Annie and
Clay allowed me to stay with them and also bought the cap for the top
along with spare parts that are almost impossible to get in Haiti.
Ernie Ortiz got the wood donated and built the box on the back so we
could fill it up with SO much stuff. Steve allowed me to stay in his
condo on Treasure Island for a few nights. Pastor Deon Lett and the New
Destiny International Church for bringing in all the stuff to fill it
up. We got drums, a guitar, a trombone, clothes, shoes, bikes, a mixer,
a toaster and on and on it came. Pastor Greg Ball at Destiny Church
Naples finished filling off the last part of the truck and then took up
an offering of $1300.00 to pay for the shipping. Many hands make light
work, this is a testament to that fact. I know there are others that I
have missed but be assured that all you will receive your reward for
truly giving to a wonderful man of God. I sent him a picture on the
Internet of his truck and he said he could not wait to get his hands on
it. Please continue to pray that it arrives there safe and sound. May
God bless all of your efforts.
