Hello Everybody! As many of you know, the Haiti team made it back safe and sound! On behalf of the team I want to thank all of you for your prayers and financial support! It’s because of your financial support that we were even able to make the trip to Haiti, and it’s because of your prayers we had a productive week.
While in Haiti, the group did its fare share of physical labor and ministry outreach! We went into a few villages and handed out supplies. We handed out anywhere from two 50 pound bags of rice, totes full of clothes, and even bags of candy for the children! Also as a group project, we spent a couple days painting the gate/fence at Destiny Village. On Sunday morning myself along with Adam Kidwell were so honored to minister the gospel at a local Haitian church. It is always an interesting experience ministering with the help of an interpreter. However, the pastor of the church who also interpreted for us is very anointed and flowed very well with us. Later that evening we returned to the church and showed the Jesus film. Within about twenty minutes of showing the film, the church had filled up with no less than 450-500 people. At one point I saw that there were people looking in from the outside just to get a glimpse of the movie. At the end of the film we gave an altar call and were surprised that no one had responded. In frustration and sadness we had to remind ourselves that we are not the saviors. We are called to preach the gospel and then it is up to the people to respond and work out their own salvation. We know that his word does not return void and that someone was touched by the gospel that night! I can honestly say that the greatest ministry that we did while in Haiti, was simply spending time with the kids and showing them the love of Christ. The Haiti team connected with the kids of Destiny Village in such an awesome way! I must say that the hardest part of our trip was the morning we had to say our good-byes. I must admit that since I’ve been home, there have been multiple times that I start to cry just thinking about the kids and how much I already miss them. As much as our team went down there with big plans to minister, I don't think we realized how much we would leave ministered to. I have included some pictures from the trip at the bottom, Thank you again for your prayers and support! The word of God teaches that what you make happen for others, he will make happen for you!
