Destiny Village

As you are all aware of by now Haiti has been devastated by a massive earthquake. I was in Haiti at the time with a group from The Potter's House and we saw first hand the power of what you have seen on TV. 

Never in my life have I been apart of something so damaging. In about one minute all that people had worked for went up in dust. Fortunately for us at Destiny Village we sustained very little damage. Everyone was in shock after it happened but we were able to come together and calm each other and begin to  praise and declare God's goodness.

The morning after we went to the hospital and asked how we could help. Dr. Marie Jo made us a list of supplies they needed from the pharmacy in St. Marc and we filled that with as much as we could afford. She sent word on Sunday to thank us again and to let us know that all though all of the supplies have been used up the IV solutions we bought help to save lives. The witch doctor at the end of our road burned down his hut and destroyed the articles he used in worship declaring that God was the only one that could save Haiti.

Throughout Haiti people are doing remarkable things. We have decided to implement new directives for our organization. It will take a monumental effort but we believe now is the time to move into the unknown and act by faith. I have listed the new agenda for Destiny Village, please pray for us and if God directs please help us to fulfill all he has designed for us to accomplish. May God bless Haiti.

    Destiny Village has come to the following guidelines after the recent earthquake in Haiti. We have decided that we must at this time make revisions to how we will move forward within our responsibilities to the Haitian people and the nation as a whole. Our goals are as follows.
 
Short term goals

--Provide essentials including water, food and clothing through our Destiny Village location.

--Provide medicines and medical supplies with the assistance of the Pierre Payen hospital.

--We will open up our facility to provide for the influx of newly orphaned children, short and long term, providing them with housing, food and education.

--We will allow extra Americans providing relief to travel to our facility, housing them and helping them in their efforts to help the Haitian people.

Long term goals

--Build more housing for the children and for staff needed to help in their development.
--Build a church to be able to meet their needs both physical and spiritual.
--Add extra American and Haitian staff
 
    We will be asking Pastor Marcel to assist us in finding the children with the greatest needs.
