We have been in Haiti for only a couple of days but you see so much it is hard to process it all. We spent all day Saturday in Port Au Prince just taking it all in. We passed out bread with peanut butter and walked among the rubble. There are still so many body parts crushed among the concrete and steel. You see legs, hands, bones and entire skeletons. People are still in a daze just walking up and down the streets past buildings that once were several stories high and now are flat. You can see where each floor was and now that floor is lying on top of the next floor. They were all made of concrete and the weight of the building could not handle the shaking caused by the earthquake. People we met said they had received no help yet and were desperate for anything. Tomorrow we are taking 10,000 bags of water and an equal amount of crackers into town and try to help as many people as possible. The Bible says as we do it unto the least of these we do it unto Him. There is so much to do and nobody seems to know where to start. Pray for leadership in Haiti that they will be responsible with what they are receiving. We are going with Pastor Marcel on Wednesday to be introduced to several new children. Most are earthquake survivors, some with no remaining parents and others who still have one parent but no way of feeding or taking care of them. Most people lost not only their spouses but also their house and business. Now they are faced with a life with no hope, no where to turn and the church has got to step up and take charge. This is our time to shine, to show forth the love of an almighty God. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this week that we might be of some benefit to the Haitian people.
