The Monarch Queen arrived in St. Marc on Monday afternoon.  Our truck came off the boat at around 12:30 the next day.  Dad,  Pastor Marcel, and several of our older boys were able to unload the truck at the dock.

I can't believe how much stuff was on that truck!!  The back of Pastor Marcel's truck and our big truck were full of items for Haiti.  All of the kids helped unload the items and take them to the depot.  We had designated areas for food, medicine, clothes, etc.  Kristen and Dad already knew how many things they had collected, but Mom and I couldn't believe our eyes as we saw box after box come into the depot.  At one point I was thinking, wow, this sure is a lot of stuff and that was only the 1st truck unloaded.  Wednesday, we spent the day sorting medical supplies and organizing food.  Dad had a doctor donate all kind of braces so he took those to Pastor Marcel yesterday afternoon.  Dad said the hospital was really excited because they really have limited supplies right now (more on that later).  We used one of the classrooms in the depot to store and organize the food.  I can't believe how much food was donated!  It is overwhelming really.  We have a lot of food for Destiny Village, but we were also able to give some to each of our workers.  We had several boxes of food for Pastor Marcel as well.  He is going to pass it out to earthquake victims.  Today we will continue sorting through the boxes.  We would like to be finished by tomorrow.

Right now there is a guy here who found us through the Church of God.  His name is Blake.  He wanted to come to Haiti to help and was supposed to stay at the Church of God compound in Port-au-Prince.  However, when he arrived there, there was no electricity or running water and the place was pretty packed.  He ended up calling us and is now staying at Destiny Village.  Blake has a huge amount of experience as a paramedic.  He used to work in a helicopter, so you know he has seen the worst.  He has been spending most of his days at the hospital in St. Marc.  He said it is a really sad situation.  They have no medicine, only morphine.  Many people have infections but there are no antibiotics to treat them.  He said because there are no surgeons, many people have lost their legs, simply because the doctors don't know what else to do.  He saw many young people, ages 20-25, with amputated limbs.  He said it is a pretty desperate situation.  While the hospital welcomed his help, he felt a little helpless since he had no medicine and he wasn't a surgeon.  Blake is really nice and the kids have enjoyed him.

And now for a little "fun" tidbit.  Dad has been teaching the boys how to use BB guns.  They have gotten pretty good at it. When I was younger, I had a BB gun myself, so the other day, I thought I'd give it a try again.  Let me just say, I outshot all of those boys.  We set up a few bottles and kept moving them back.  Several times, I hit a bottle on the first try.  The boys of course just said I was lucky, since they can't stand being beat by a girl.  I still have the touch!!  Thanks to Grandpa Wright.

I want to close by once again saying a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated items or money for the truck.  I was overwhelmed by your generosity.  One day, God will bless you for taking the time to bless others.
